LME:LEARN is a project funded by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF), implemented by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and managed by the IOC. It sits within the GEF International Waters Learning Exchange and Resource Network. The objective for LME:LEARN is to improve global ecosystem-based governance of Large Marine Ecosystems (LMEs) and their coasts by generating knowledge, building capacity, harnessing stakeholders and supporting global learning. 

The UK is involved with a focus on ballast water within all LMEs (UK Contact: Fredrik Hagg, IMO).
